1. Overview

Melodrift ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines how information is collected, used, and safeguarded when using the Melodrift application on Android, Windows, and web platforms. Melodrift is an independent music streaming client and audio player designed with a privacy-first approach.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Information (Optional): When you sign in to sync your library, we receive basic profile credentials (display name, email address, and avatar image) solely to authenticate and identify your private cloud library partition.
• Library & Preferences: Your custom playlists, favorite tracks, and listening history are stored securely in your private cloud partition.
• Local Cache: Downloaded audio files, cache, and local track indexes are saved directly on your device storage for offline playback.

3. Device Permissions & Purpose

• Microphone: Used exclusively for user-initiated voice search queries. Spoken audio is processed ephemerally on-device to transcribe search text. Audio recordings are never stored, transmitted to remote servers, or used for advertising.
• Media Playback & Foreground Service: Used solely to support continuous background audio playback and interactive notification controls (play, pause, skip).
• Storage: Used to access local music files on your device and save offline music cache within the app.

4. Advertising & Tracking

Melodrift is 100% ad-free. We do not collect Google Advertising Identifiers (AD_ID). We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data or listening history with advertisers or third-party data brokers.

5. Online Discovery & Metadata

Melodrift communicates with public online media indexes and metadata providers to search for audio content, display album artwork, and stream playback tracks.

6. Account & Data Deletion Request

Users can request permanent deletion of their account, profile information, cloud playlists, and listening history at any time. To request complete account and data deletion:

• In-App: Go to Settings → Account → "Delete Account & Cloud Data".
• Online Request: Email your deletion request directly to rajeev.upadhyay@live.in with the subject "Delete Melodrift Account".

Upon receiving your request, all account credentials, cloud-stored playlists, favorites, and associated telemetry are permanently purged within 30 days. Local audio cache can also be cleared instantly within the app's Settings menu.

7. Children's Privacy

Melodrift is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
